Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
Our Core Principle
CellSentry is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle. Your data never leaves your computer. All analysis — formula auditing, sensitive data redaction, data extraction, and AI-powered detection — runs entirely on your local machine.
CellSentry Excel Add-in
The CellSentry Excel Add-in runs entirely within your browser as an Office Web Add-in. It does not send any data to external servers. All formula analysis is performed locally in your browser session.
What Data the Add-in Accesses
The CellSentry Excel Add-in accesses the following data from your workbook, solely for the purpose of formula error analysis:
- Cell values and formulas in the active worksheet
- Cell formatting information (number formats, conditional formatting)
- Worksheet structure (named ranges, merged cells)
This data is processed entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to any external server. When you close the add-in, no data is retained.
CellSentry Desktop Application
The CellSentry desktop application includes an AI model that runs locally on your machine. The AI model is downloaded once during initial setup and all subsequent analysis is performed offline. Your data is never sent to any cloud service or external API for AI processing.
No Cookies, No Tracking, No Analytics
CellSentry does not use cookies, tracking pixels, analytics services, or any form of user behavior monitoring. We do not use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, or any similar service. The CellSentry website and application are tracking-free.
What We Don't Collect
- We do not collect, transmit, or store your data
- We do not use cookies or tracking technologies
- We do not use telemetry or analytics
- We do not track your usage patterns
- We do not send your formulas to any external server
- The AI model runs locally — no cloud API calls are made during analysis
What We Do Process
- Model download: On first launch, CellSentry downloads the AI model (~1 GB) from GitHub Releases. This is a one-time download. No personal data is transmitted.
- Update checks: CellSentry checks GitHub Releases for new versions. Only the current version number is compared — no personal data is sent.
Local Data Storage
CellSentry stores the following data locally on your machine:
- Application settings and preferences
- Usage statistics (scan counts, stored locally only)
- AI model files
All local data is stored in your system's standard application data directory and can be fully removed by uninstalling CellSentry.
Transparency
CellSentry is open source under the MIT license. You can inspect the full source code on GitHub to verify exactly how your data is handled. The entire AI analysis pipeline runs locally on your machine using an embedded language model. No network calls are made during analysis.
